BIOGRAPHY
The Spanish soprano Rocío Pérez can already look back on a most exemplary career with appearances in renowned theaters and awarded in several important competitions.
In 2018/19 season Rocío reprises the role of Queen of the night at Deutsche Oper Berlin and at Semperoper Dresden. She make her debut as Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor at Deutsche Oper Berlin, as Nanneta (Falstaff) at Teatro Real de Madrid and as Olympia (Les contes d´Hoffmann) at Finnish National Opera.
During 2016/17/18 seasons Rocío sang in theatres like La Fenice as Berenice (L´occasione fa il Ladro), at Deutsche Oper Berlin as Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), at Opera de Lyon as Feu, La Princesse y Rossignol (L’enfant et les sortilèges) and Amore/Damigella (L’incoronazione di Poppea), in Paris Théâtre des Champs Elysées as Cleone (Ermione) and at Opera de Metz as Norina (Don Pasquale); also she take part in the world premiere Policias y Ladrones by Tomás Marco as La hija at Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.
On past seasons, she was a full member of the Opera in Strasbourg where she sang roles like Carolina (Il matrimonio segreto) by Cimarosa, Funny (La cambiale di matrimonio) by Rossini, Tebaldo (Don Carlo) by Verdi, La fée bleue (La belle ou bois dormant) by Respighi, Ygraine (Ariane et BarbeBleue) by Dukas, Anastasie (Cendrillon) by Wolf-Ferrari and Phylo (Pénélope) by Fauré.
Rocío Pérez starts from an early age her training in music, clarinet and drama. She begins her studies in singing with Elena Valdelomar and finishes at the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid with Victoria Manso. Also, Rocio has attended vocal masterclass with Natalie Dessay, Ana Luisa Chova, Dolora Zajick, June Anderson, Carlos Chausson and others during his studies.
Rocío has been awarded with several prizes in very important competitions like Queen Elisabeth Competition where she obtain 4º prize, 36th International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition where she won 2 special prizes, 3º prize and y most promising young prize at I Wettbewerb Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and 2º prize, most promising young prize and audience prize at XXVII Concours International de Chant de Marmande.
