Current and Recent Engagements (2026)
Milan Perišić has started the 2026 season with high-level international visibility. In January, he returned to the Gran Teatre del Liceu as the Steuermann in a new production of Tristan und Isolde featuring Lise Davidsen. That same month, he was a Finalist at the prestigious 63rd Tenor Viñas Competition in Barcelona.
Looking immediately ahead, Perišić makes his house debut at ABAO Bilbao Opera in February 2026 as Cecil in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda. Later in the year, he returns to the Liceu to sing Schaunard in La bohème and will appear as the Heerrufer in Wagner’s Lohengrin at Opera Tenerife.
2024/2025 Season Highlights & Critical Acclaim
Perišić’s recent seasons have been defined by major principal roles and critical success. In 2025, his portrayal of Conte d’Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro with Òpera Catalunya was hailed as “splendid” and “impeccable” by Scherzo, praising his “careful phrasing” and “homogeneous voice.”
His interpretations of Puccini roles have garnered equal praise; performing Lescaut in Manon Lescaut, he was cited as the “best of the night” (Recomana), while his Marcello in La bohème confirmed his “resonant and brilliant” vocal quality (Olyrix).
His performance as Dottore Malatesta in Don Pasquale at the Teatre Principal de Palma was also singled out by critics, who noted his “very cared-for and expressive interpretation” (Ópera Actual). At the Gran Teatre del Liceu, his role as Harašta in The Cunning Little Vixen was praised as a standout performance in the cast (EnPlatea / Llegir.cat).
On the concert stage, his performance of Orff’s Carmina Burana with the Royal Symphonic Orchestra of Seville at Teatro de la Maestranza was celebrated for its “magnificent prosody” and “beautiful, flexible singing line” (Diario de Sevilla).
Other key engagements in the 2025 season included his debut at the Opéra Bastille in Paris as the Député flamand in Don Carlo and returning to the Liceu as Bernardo in West Side Story.
Past Seasons & Early Highlights
Perišić’s earlier international career is marked by prestigious debuts. In 2023, he performed multiple roles in Shostakovich’s The Nose at Teatro Real in Madrid and appeared as Scarus in the European premiere of John Adams’ Anthony & Cleopatra at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. In 2022, he sang the title role in Don Giovanni in Spoleto and Perugia, and Alonso in the world premiere of J. Carmena’s El Orgullo de Quererte at Teatros del Canal.
Education, Awards and Honors
Born in Novi Sad, Serbia, Perišić holds a Master’s degree in Singing from the Conservatorio di Musica “G. Tartini” in Trieste and a Bachelor’s degree in Composition from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. He is an alumnus of the Teatro Real’s Crescendo young artist programme (2022) and has held scholarships from the Victoria de los Angeles, Montserrat Caballé, and Melanija Bugarinović Foundations.
Milan Perišić is a distinguished prize-winner in numerous international competitions. Recent accolades include: Finalist at the Tenor Viñas Competition (2026), “Filipe de Sousa” Special Prize at the 2nd Cascais Opera International Competition (2025), First Prize at the VII Concurso Internacional de Canto “Compostela Lírica” (2024), Second Prize at the XX Certamen de Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla (2024), First Prize and special prizes at the “Les Corts” International Music Competition, “BA Lirica” International Voice Competition, and “Josep Palet” Singing Contest (all in 2023). He was also a finalist at the Sumi Jo International Singing Competition (2024) and the Paris Opera Competition (2023).
