BIOGRAPHY
Chilean baritone. He is a member of the Accademia di perfezionamento per cantanti lirici of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in the 2017-2019 biennium.
He debuts at the Teatro alla Scala in the 2017/18 season in Ti vedo, ti sento, mi perdo by Salvatore Sciarrino (world premiere); then he performs Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss and Ali Babà e i quaranta ladroni by Luigi Cherubini. In the 2018/19 season at La Scala he performs Belcore in L’elisir d’amore; Marullo in Rigoletto, il Poeta in Prima la musica e poi le parole by Antonio Salieri and Spinelloccio in Gianni Schicchi, directed by Woody Allen.
In recent seasons, he has appeared at the Teatro Regio di Torino as Lescaut in Manon, at the Opéra de Lyon in La fanciulla del West, at the Rossini Opera Festival in La Cambiale di Matrimonio and Il viaggio a Reims, at the Teatro Regio di Parma in Il Matrimonio segreto, at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in El caballero de Olmedo and La Corte de faraón, at the Opéra de Dijon in Pagliacci, and at the Opera de Tenerife in Il matrimonio segreto and The Little Sweep.
He made his Chilean debut in 2013 at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago and has performed there in several seasons, notably as Lescaut in Manon and Papageno in The Magic Flute, roles for which he received the Chilean Circle of Art Critics’ award in the Opera category in 2022 and 2024. He has given recitals and concerts at La Scala, Carnegie Hall, the Philharmonie de Paris, the New York National Opera Center, and Teatro del Lago.
His upcoming engagements include Pagliacci at the Teatro Colón, Romeo and Juliet at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, and La Bohème at the Teatro Regio di Torino.
