Lyric director class of 1984.

He studied opera singing between Milan, Trapani and Bergamo and then he moved on to become an opera director.

In 2011 he founded the association VoceAllOpera, which aims to disseminate opera in unusual contexts, giving the first opportunity to debut artists who today perform on the most important international stages. For VoceAllOpera he has signed the direction of L’elisir d’amore by G. Donizetti, Il barbiere di Siviglia by G. Rossini, Rigoletto by G. Verdi, La Traviata by G. Verdi, Il Trovatore by G. Verdi. Verdi, Il Barbiere di Siviglia by G. Paisiello, La Bohème by G. Puccini, La Voix humaine by F. Poulen, Cavalleria rusticana by P. Mascagni, La Cenerentola by G. Rossini, Gianni Schicchi by G. Puccini.

In July 2015, he was hired by the Festival della Valle d’Itria at Martina Franca, creating a suggestive dramatic reduction, in addition to the scenes and direction, of Monteverdi’s masterpiece The Coronation of Poppea.

He directed the diptych La Voix humaine / Il di uno scomparso (Poulenc-Janacek) at the La Fenice Theatre in Venice.

In 2016 he produced Hänsel und Gretel by Humperdinck at the Florence Opera House and Donizetti’s Don Pasquale in Taranto by Donizetti and Mirandolina by Martinů for La Fenice.

During 2017 he opened the Mazurski Festival of Mrągowo in Poland with La Bohème by Puccini and the Paisiello Festival in Taranto with Il barbiere di Siviglia by G. Paisiello, directed by La Traviata by G. Verdi in Osaka and he held some Masterclasses in Austria and Sicily.

In November he opens the 2017/2018 season at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice with a new production of Un ballo in maschera by Verdi under the direction of Myung Whun Chung.
In 2018 he founded in Antigua the “Antigua Opera Society” of which he is the Artistic Director, being the first in the world to bring opera to the Caribbean; in the same year he is a finalist candidate for the “International Opera Awards” in London in the debut category.

He returns to the festival of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino with a new production of La Daphne by Marco da Gagliano, under the direction of Federico Maria Sardelli, in the Boboli Gardens at the Gruta del Bontalenti.

Then he staged and performed the play for a particular Barber of Seville with music by Rossini and Paisiello with the participation of Elio (delle Storie tese), for the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca.

He returns to Japan for a new production of W. Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro.

In 2019 he performed a suggestive staging of G. Verdi’s Rigoletto in Milan for VoceAllOpera, continued his activity in Antigua and in May was invited to the Guanzhou Opera in China for a revival of G. Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera. Later he will dedicate himself to a reworking of G. Bizet’s Carmen. In October he will be in charge of the opening of the 2019/2020 season at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno with the Dittico Cavalleria Rusticana and the Suor Angelica by Mascagni and Puccini, a production that is expected to take place in mid-December at the Teatro Coccia in Novara and at the end of January 2020 at the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo. In December, it will return to the Fenice for a new production of Valtinoni’s Pinocchio.
