BIOGRAPHY

Azerbaijani soprano Dinara Alieva graduated from the Baku Music Academy and joined the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow as a soloist in 2010. Dinara has won awards at several influential international competitions including; Maria Callas Grand Prix Opera (Greece), Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Young Opera Singers (Saint-Petersburg), Francisco Viñas International Singing Contest (Barcelona), Operalia (The World Opera Competition founded by Placido Domingo, Milan) and Bul-Bul International Vocalists Competition (Baku), International.

During this 2022/23 season, Dinara will sing the titles role in Tosca at Oper Leipzig and Aida at Deutsche Oper Berlin. Last season’s highlights included Elisabetta di Valois in a new production of Don Carlo at the Semperoper Dresden and Tosca and La bohème at the Bolshoi Theatre.

Past seasons have included a triumphant debut with the Vienna State Opera as Donna Elvira Don Giovanni, which led to return engagements at the house as Violetta La traviata and Tatyana Eugene Onegin and her Royal Opera House debut singing Violette in La Traviata. Other notable past engagements include her role of Liu Turandot at the Weiner Staatsoper, Cio-Cio-San Madama Butterfly at Opéra national de Paris and Nedda Pagliacci at the Gran teatre del Liceu. Magda in a new production of La Rondine at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, directed by Rolando Villazon; Violetta and Donna Elvira also at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Mimi La bohème in Frankfurt and for the Dresden Semperoper.
